Why We Created Mapinamo

We saw a massive gap in how location decisions are made. Large corporations have whole departments dedicated to site selection, while small businesses, independent retailers, and local real estate professionals are often left guessing or wrestling with overly complicated data.

We built Mapinamo to level the playing field. By combining heavy-duty spatial data science with clean, user-friendly dashboard design, we created a tool that translates millions of data points—from public records to walkability, safety, and affluence scores—into a simple H3 hexagonal grid. Mapinamo is designed to take the fear out of spatial data, replacing guesswork with clear, actionable insights so anyone can find their perfect location.

As a PhD researcher in Geography at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Senior Data Scientist, Inessa specializes in advanced geoanalytics. She is the architect behind Mapinamo, focusing on engineering complex spatial datasets and public data into strategic insights that drive smart business decisions.
